Some of the best places are just waiting to be discovered!  I'm going to let you in on a little secret...Boulder Taphouse Ames, Iowa is the newest joint in Ames and we had a great experience and very good food! I'm no professional food critic but I know what I like so I thought I would share for all of you who live in Ames or may be relocating to the area! Friday afternoon, the hubs and I had an impromptu date lunch and we swung in here on a totally spontaneous whim.  I ordered the southwest black bean burger and although it took some time coming out, it was well worth the wait! The flavor was pretty darn good (I asked for no pico) and if you order this make sure you get a side of chipotle ranch as it kicks it up a few notches. The fries were hot and very tasty as well.  Jason ordered a chicken fajita wrap and - after a few bites - commented that he didn’t think they gave him the right wrap. He was correct, the new cook put him together a grilled chicken wrap (not even on the menu) but I sampled it and we both decided it should be! The waitress was great - brought out a brand new (correct) wrap for us to take home even though he told her he was pleased with what he got! The atmosphere is what you would expect from a sports bar, as are the prices, and I’m sure the wait and the order mix up was just the staff falling into a rhythm, but I can definitely tell you we will eat here again!
